WELCOME TO KOOKABURRAS ON CURRA COUNTRY CAMPING
Situated 3.8km from the Bruce highway and only 15 minutes north of the heart of Gympie, on 50 acres of beautiful bush and pasture land, this former dairy farm is the perfect place to unwind, relax or use as a base to explore the delights of our region. Wake up to the sound of kookaburras, the sight of kangaroos in the mist and the smell of your own camp fire boiling the billy.
Your hosts Sally and Craig found and fell in love with this now unused property on returning from their own camping adventures. Realizing there were many like minded campers who wanted peace and quiet, wide open spaces self contained camping and also security at reasonable rates, would like to welcome you to their little piece of paradise.
The property is for 4 wheel drive vehicles towing self contained off road or semi off road vans, campers & tents, with limited 2 wheel drive access sites available. Family groups are welcome by appointment.
The property is totally private and campers cannot been seen from the road, the owners live on the property and only booked guests are to enter the property offering security and peace of mind. There are many areas to camp depending on your preference, with an abundance of birds and wildlife around .
Your pets are welcome if quiet and restrained to protect our wildlife.

Welcome to the Gympie Region with lots to see and do. Famous as a gold mining town, we have the Gold Mining Museum park and duck ponds, Mary Valley Rattler steam train and the Wood Workers Museum. The town itself is a historical gem with old town architecture, speciality shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops.
There are markets every Sunday. The Gympie Muster and Gympie Show.
It is an RV friendly town with 2 dump points and 3 water stations, all the big supermarkets and petrol stations you would need and ask us about caravan spares and repairs.
Fancy some coastal activity...leave your van...we are an hour from Noosa and Rainbow beach, the gateway to Fraser Island and 48mins from Tin Can Bay.
